Boosta - Boostology

  • Italian DJ Boosta delivers a four track EP for the always seductive Mantra imprint. Boostology is a quartet of interesting productions that are sure to make him more of a known force. 'Love Pills' kicks off with intense driving basslines that hit deep, accompanied by quirky, subtle acid-like riffs and an interesting looped melody lending the track a dark feel. This all changes though in the epic breakdown, which drives the track home melodically. 'Love Strings' is a delightfully smooth two-minute piece encompassing all that is lovely about strings. A nice, smooth bassline subtly gives the small piece more moodiness. 'Alice' is a great track. Solid beats open alongside stuttered melodic patterns that continually build with the track. There are some tasty smooth basslines that work delightfully alongside the melody, and the breakdown towards the end of the production is very well put together. Great stuff here from Boosta! 'Dance Is Dead' is a very retro track with filtered vocals and melodic bleeps. Very interesting, and for me it adds well to this very tasty release from Boosta.
