Snake Sedrick - Friction

  • Pure Substance's digital wing sees a low slung tribal roller from Hungarian producer Zoltan Hedrick, aka Snake Sedrick, entitled Friction. First up is the Original mix, kicking off with blend of tribal percussive elements and intermitant delayed sounds shifting the groove to the next phase as rhythm upon rhythm become layered. The mood keeps deep and dirty throughout as a pitched vocal cut pulls it further into the depths.Events ease back at a gradual pace for the break with just the menacing vocal at the fore and picking back up with a build once more. The Black Mamba mix keeps to the dirt filled power of the original but makes full use of the vocals and hypnotic synth hits swirling about above a tighter house beat, moving and shifting with a heavy flow. Wrapping things up is the Red and Blue remix, cranking up the heat with a highly charged workout complete with techy percussion and seething, elongated delays leading into momentary silence with a breakdown to scare any dancefloor.
