PST, Coral D & SVN - Tryptmix

  • Maybe the most delicately beautiful track ever on SUED., and also one of the strangest.

  • When I think about the world of electronic music being made by labels like Sex Tags Mania, SUED. and Acido, adjectives like "murky" and "heady" spring to mind. But Berlin's Neues Deutschland studio has also brought us some timeless bangers over the years—tracks like DJ Sotofett's "Current 82" or the B1 from SW.'s Reminders Part Three. "Tryptmix," which is a collaboration between SUED. label head SVN, longtime affiliate PST and newcomer Coral D, joins these rarefied ranks. The track slowly builds on a dubby house groove, adding micro touches of melody and rhythm: deep house pads, claps, a skeletal synthline. Just as you get locked in, the track disintegrates at the six-minute mark. What we're left with is an empty stereo field where anxious bleeps and bloops fade into entropy, before trance-style chords and a melancholic organ take over, floating above swelling hand drums. Slowly, the label's most beautiful club track to date emerges from the haze.
