- On paper, "Fukken Lie," the lead single from Nene H's forthcoming Trifecta EP, should be as serious a piece of techno as they come. The kick drums are pounding, the chords are coated with reverb and the synth line halfway through is hair-raising. But where Nene H excels as a producer in how she takes these building blocks of cookie cutter techno and makes a track as funky as it is austere. Here, she adds a bouncy bassline and swings her drums to help give the whole thing a little bit of warmth amongst these cold angles. But the cherry on top is the vocals from Nik Mantilla that pokes fun at Berlin's self-serious techno scene, ribbing everything from the crowded clubs to clothing choices. "I love your outfit," he says before confessing, "That was a fucking lie."
