  • As a DJ and producer, New York-based Ayesha generally operates within the sub-heavy parameters of UK club music, but her approach is wide and loose. The Daytimers affiliate, who just finished a residency at Nowadays, packs in plenty of stylistic details, often jumping from abstract techno to dancehall to jungle in a DJ set. Her bassy mutations and bodacious blends move with aerodynamic force, each break, arpeggio and syncopated rhythm seemingly gliding past one another. "Swim," her contribution to Fever AM's five-year compilation, unfolds at a slower pace than her older cuts, but it's just as frenzied. It's a metallic techno slow-burner with clear hints of IDM and dub, bolstered by gauzy vocals and spiralling synths. "Swim" feels electrically charged and full of pent-up energy, bringing to mind the fast-rising bubbles of a fizzy drink. But it moves with control and precision, underlining her dynamic touch as well as her love for loopy details.
