- Much of Atlanta producer Twofold's earlier music on SoundCloud is downtempo electronica with a hint of classical piano. But since 2022, they've taken a hard left, dressing up Jersey club with a combative mecha aesthetic—think Street Fighter meets Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The lead track from Twofold's new Twice twixt single, "Twirly twister (Like That)," is a stereo-panning mélange of drums, growling synths and beat-'em-up one liners that sound like they've been boosted through a futuristic megaphone. It's disorientating and overwhelming, but undeniably fun. Experimental club music has a new brawler on its hands, and they hit hard and fast.
