- Paris has always been home to a healthy crop of loop-driven producers. And while the city certainly has its vanguard, there's also a rich tradition of dyed-in-the-wool minimalists in the French capital stretching from Le Loup to Janeret. The anonymous duo behind Curlyheads seem destined for this latter category, as they show us on "Otter," the A2 from their forthcoming EP for Shíshú (a Sentaku subsidiary). The two start off with a breaky groove, with just the right amount of dubby reverb on the synth to keep things serious but amicable. They add a few other elements over time—a piano chord, some synthy twiddles—but the track is all about the art of the loop in its purest form.
