He reminds me of producers like Ethel and Lattress who, although affiliated with the new minimal scene, aren't afraid to look to the '80s for inspiration. On his latest 12-inch for Andrew James Gustav's Marginal Returns, he ups the ante. The drums on "Telekinetic (Hyper Mix)" have the looseness of EBM with a darkwave-flavored frosty synth lead. In the last minute, the song disintegrates into an acidic fever dream, making for a decidedly modern interpretation of these '80s influences.
