Nikki Nair - once upon

  • A thrill ride of a club track—as usual—from the unstoppable Atlanta producer.

  • Nikki Nair summed up the sonic intentions behind his new label 'n goes 2 infinity' in an interview with MP3 Mag: "music that has the momentum of a party where everyone can dance the whole time but also having this crazy sound design which makes you feel like your head is being melted." The volatile techno on "once upon," with its room-shaking presence and bewildering structure, embodies this philosophy to a tee. Gooey kickdrums bounce underneath erratic laser fire at a relentless pace, while puffs of static float every which way. Nair pulls the plug out at random moments just to keep you on your toes. He'll short-circuit "once upon" with sidechaining that sounds like alien weaponry, only to wormhole you right back into the percussive blitz. The heads will melt.
