- A lewd new original and a seven remarkable remixes makes for one of the biggest techno EPs of the young year.
- LSDXOXO's steamy lyrics made "Sick Bitch" one of last year's most iconic tracks. But if you thought it couldn't get any hornier, think again. On new EP Dedicated 2 Disrespect: The Remixes, there are three new versions of "Sick Bitch," with an especially wild take from VTSS. She dismantles it completely, replacing LSDXOXO's production with her own, including a breakdown that sounds like a cow bell ricocheting inside a garbage chute. If VTSS's remix is, frankly, crazy, then River Moon's mix is by far the sexiest. Not only do they cleverly chop up LSDXOXO's lyrics, but add in their own verses, too: "I'm a sick bitch and I ain't talking the pandemic / It's getting hot in here, you better call the paramedic." This is set against clean and bouncy production that buffs out the gritty edges of the original—it comes off like Nicki Minaj in peak performance mode.
Almost all these remixes take LSDXOXO's music somewhere new. TYGAPAW's rework of "The Devil" injects an intensity all of their own, with tougher, booming kicks and an accelerated pace that turns it even more unhinged (in a good way). In contrast, Estoc's steamy punk makeover of "Baby" slows things down to a grinding, breaky '90s feel, while BADSISTA's take on "Mutant Exotic" adds bongos and proggy synths that call to mind Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction."
As great as these remixes are, the EP also boasts a new LSDXOXO original, "SMD" (short for "suck my dick," naturally). It feels like "Sick Bitch"'s little brother, as Glasgow's vocal loops "Suck my dick / Suck my dick / I know you want it bitch!" in a similarly deadpan manner. Amidst all the excellent and creative remixes on the EP, he still gets the last word. As Andrew Ryce wrote last year, "It's LSDXOXO's world, and we're just living in it." Dedicated 2 Disrespect: The Remixes, then, is a riveting expansion pack.
