SHDW & Obscure Shape - Conquest Of Paradise

  • Glossy, bright techno with a distinctive strut.

  • Stuttgart duo SHDW & Obscure Shape are two of the most underrated techno producers in Germany, and their labels—first From Another Mind and, now, Mutual Rytm—match their expansive vision of the genre. Imagine Ilian Tape blended with early Warp and a hint of Ostgut, and you're almost there. This track is their contribution to the compilation that launches Mutual Rytm, and it's a classic example of how the duo approach techno: glossy and bright where so many other producers would go dark and suffocating. It has an almost house-inspired strut to it, and the shimmering chords and shooting-star synth melodies offer plenty to hold on to. It's the kind of track that'll have you rushing to the corner of the floor where you can discreetly Shazam it.
