When "Take My Breath" was first hinted at last year, it was via a tantalizing teaser that made it sound like an extended Moroder odyssey. The final product was not quite that, merely infusing his late-period brand of shiny synth pop with some classic disco vibes.
But sometime last year, the Canadian star approached Italian duo Agents Of Time to gussy it up, and the result is something that sits beautifully in between the original's Moroder worship and the pumping, neo-trance sound that Agents Of Time usually push. In their hands, the song blooms brighter and bigger, catching fire in a way the original never did—and the lush arpeggios are half big-room Ibiza and half pop radio, a canny fusion that takes the retro touches of the whole Dawn FM record somewhere a little different.
