- Emotive melodies from a Dublin duo on the up.
- Euphoric? Melancholic? Nostalgic? "Aurora" invokes all three feelings, as the Dublin-based duo Long Island Sound debut on Hammer's Remmah label with their five-track EP First Contact. In the past, the pair have released blissed-out tracks on their own label Signs Of Space (or Maribou State's fabric Presents mix), but First Contact displays a deeper side to their sound. "Aurora" is particularly beautiful, with sonorous vocals that swim above a pool of swirling synths and fizzing FX. Like a lush pink and orange sunset mutated into six minutes and 37 seconds of emotive textures and gentle groove—sublime.
