  • A dreamy interpretation of Burmese music through a dubby, downtempo lens.

  • The music of Myanmar doesn't often reach global audiences but ROLLERS, a Tokyo and Yangon-based label and production firm, is helping fix that. Their 2017 compilation of ballads by slide guitarist U Tin, bamboo xylophonist Maung Than Aye and singer Hla Min is a delight and a dream for remixers. Jakarta-based Prabumi takes a dubby approach to his slow-burning edit, sauntering through tribal house, slo-mo acid and experimental ambient. Known for earthy house music, the Indonesian artist goes a level deeper here with trancey elements that emit calming physical vibrations, as if communicating a sacred healing remedy to the listener.
