- Qetsy's synthy rendition of footwork takes the genre into video game territory. On "Intentional Thinking," the Paraguay-born artist (and Pohañaná Records founder) retains the Chicago sound's disjointed beats but coats them in chiptune's vintage sheen with sprinkles of dub vocals and anime samples. This might sound cutesy, but the record is pretty hard-hitting, managing to captivate and surprise simultaneously thanks to slo-mo vocals, thick sub-bass and spliced tempos. Just try to picture hearing footwork on a retro arcade machine.
