- There isn't much info online about the South Carolina producer releasing tunes as Scatterbaux, but his debut EP for London-based Undersound Recordings is a masterclass in corroded yet poignant electro. Codex 2 is a hardware workout where robotic drum patterns morph in and out of time while tear-jerking pads and acid lines float across the stereo spectrum. My favorites are "Ghosts On The Wing" and "Womp Bucket." Here Scatterbaux perfectly balances the rough scattershot of the 808s with emotional pads and serpentine 303s. It's a promising release and, who knows, maybe Charleston could be electro's third city?
