- An electro/progressive groove saddles up on the intro on the A-side of the Original version of "Girls On Top" before a large sweep comes into a vocal saying "Boyz on the ground, everybody sweats ....here we go". Slamming white noised electro bass then enters with a catchy loop underneath building back up into the vocal for a quick drop of the kick drum and hats.
Everything rocks back in with cuts of the vocal adding depth and character. The hats begin to rise introducing a third deeper and fuller bass, still on the electro tip. The newer bass carries the track as further off-the-wall vocal drops are added. A small dropout brings in a banging cowbell certain to drive the dance floor mad before opening up to a dirty, wavey synth which escalates, creating fury and an immense soundscape from all angles.
Nasty, nasty electro number that rocks a new age and era. Definitely one for the electro gurus and shoguns.
On the B-side a twisted vox loop on top of a breakbeat sets things off on the Breaks Version. A similar vocal edit "Boys on the top, girls on the side" rides in and out. Hats, snare and electric sweeps smooth things out with a larger cut of the vocal running thru. This intros a grungy, rock bass line and more vocal edits twist wriggling the breakbeater in you.
Acid, did someone say acid? A true wire line comes over the top of the existing breakbeat and rock style bass. More vocal cuts and absolute craziness inspired by the acid line make for......mayhem!! Very unique notes up on the bass add a slight change with sweeps coming in/out. The volume of the acid line on the final 8 bars fades a little less as you head into up the next record.
Intense groove and sound, one for the main rooms of the top clubs around the world. Pray your favorite A-list has this one in the box.
