N. Hell - Heartbeat

  • Oddball techno on a key Polish label.

  • In the British TV show Spaced, a raver character named Tyres finds a rhythm in the sound of a traffic light. He's vibing with the cars until it's their turn to go, then presses the button and waits until the light is green and the sound is there for him again. This steady rhythm drives N. Hell's "Heartbeat," which shatters its trance-like buildups with a hilarious drum solo followed by a dubstep-inspired drum pattern. It's so ironically lame that it's actually genuinely cool, the shift a reminder that nothing matters on the dance floor except for the connection between dancers and the beat.
