- State-of-the-art bass science from the De Lichting crew.
- I'd put De Lichting up there with Well Street Records and Nous'klaer Audio as a label releasing some of the most exciting records that fuse techno, bass and dub. The latest from Kaap is an excellent primer to this sound. Opener "Razor" keeps us on edge as a jittery synth cuts through the threads of sub bass holding it all together. "Omen" is deeper with wanderlust in the chords, but the minor keys create a tense hall of mirrors. But the real moneymaker is the finale, "Dead On Arrival." Stretching out over ten glorious minutes, Kaap locks into a perfectly dubwise groove while smokey melodies wisp in and out.
