- Jubilee's music has always sounded tropical, a quality that can be attributed to her early years spent in Florida's underground scene. Her first solo record since 2019, don't play this, is bursting with energy, the kind of music destined for the unhinged dance floors that have already distinguished the New York summer in 2021. A sinister melody creeps across "Peak," which builds into a delirious spiral by the track's mid-point. The EP's B-side, "High," packs a familiar Miami bass 808 kick drum, a squelchy acid synth line and, coming in at the perfect moment, a rousing vocal. It's easy to imagine Jubilee titling her latest EP with a wink, rightfully secure in her prowess as a producer.
