- Addictive hybrid techno wizardry from Stenny.
- The original version of "Pingo" by Munich producer Popp is a delightful electroacoustic number, suffused with life thanks to its bright chimes and supple percussion. In Ilian Tape affiliate Stenny's hands, however, it turns darker, with a twitchy techno swing that reminds me of early Peverelist. The way the drums dart from left to right is addictive, the kind of thing that would pull odd shapes from dancers, but the best part is the juddering LFO bassline calling to dubstep's glory days without ever really approximating a retro feel. It's the kind of seamless fusion between scenes, eras and genres that the Ilian Tape artist does so well.
