  • "Evaporate," taken from Columbus, Ohio, producer Teakup's Sips Tea EP, is a microcosm of what makes that record such a joyful romp. The whole 12-inch throws back to the days when blips and ultra-minimal drum patterns ruled the dance floors, but it does that with a sense of whimsy and wonder. The central three-note melody is the stuff that killer afternoon parties are made for—swaying, woozy, just propulsive enough—with dynamic bass work that sounds like a mole digging a tunnel underneath the track. Rounded off by the addictively lopsided UK garage-inspired drums, it's a moreish jam that should have you pining for outdoor dance floors.
