Lawrence Lee - Mycelium

  • Top-notch ambient house off Radiant Love's second International Women's Day compilation.

  • Electronic music has always thrived in compilation form, but over the past year a remarkable amount of crews have used the format to benefit worthy causes. Radiant Love, the Berlin queer party and label, just dropped its second International Women's Day compilation, with proceeds going to charities working with queer people of colour, refugees and trans sex workers in Berlin. But anyone with even a passing interest in the trance-prog-house-IDM-ambient house sound of the moment should pick it up on musical merits alone. My personal favourite is Lawrence Lee's "Mycellium," a lovely mix of intricate rave rhythms and E2-E4-style chords, a real standout on a compilation full of winners.
