- For all the excellent music inspired by the pandemic, there have been some clangers. The latest cringeworthy attempt to spread positivity is "Marea (We've Lost Dancing)," a syrupy house tune by pop and rap producer Fred again.., with help from Boston Bun. The chirpy synths are jarring. The ghostly laments sound like they've been ripped straight from old Burial. But the icing on the cake is Marea Stamper, AKA The Blessed Madonna, melodramatically repeating "We've lost dancing!" and sermonising over her own echo. "If I can live through this / What comes next will be… marvellous," she declares. It rings hollow, like the dance music equivalent of that video of celebrities singing "Imagine." It's been a long year.
