- I first heard BABii's voice on an Iglooghost song back in 2018 and immediately became a fan. Now she's released her first single of 2021, "Shadow," through Gloo, the label she started with Iglooghost and Kai Whiston. The subject of the track is fictional, crafted in a fantastical world of demons and cyborgs. Her vocals are rhythmic and ethereal, and her voice becomes a percussion instrument with bell-like tones. Fused with industrial sounds and experimental garage production, "Shadow" is like a lullaby you can skank to. "Floaty but tough," as she calls it. Co-written and produced by Babii herself, it’s clear that she knows what she wants and how to do it.
