Louie Padilla - Monophonic

  • Louie Padilla unleashes some more energy charged electronic house on the Juicy Music imprint with Monophonic. The title track, Monophonic, is first up and it is very intense from the word go. It builds with some gritty but not too intense basslines first up alongside some pretty strong drum patterns. As the track flows however, more sounds intensify making the track step up leaps as it becomes more peak time. It really is late night stuff this production, using some strong drums and an intense array of sounds and fx that are not for the light hearted. Despite the extended breakdown late on, this track maintains a great energy throughout. Manik is on the flip and for me this production isn’t as strong as the a-side. Whereas the a-side had a more musical aspect, this production for me is too much noise and not enough music. At times is sounds more like a doorbell then it does a musical track, but don’t let this take anything away from the a-side which makes this release for me.
