- With its latest release, 100% Silk takes a slight detour from pad-heavy mid-fi house, visiting the intriguing sound world of Dubharp. The Denver artist has landed features from Laraaji and Lee Scratch Perry for the forthcoming Spiral Heights tape, which gives you a good idea of where his head's at. But on "Morning Glory," the opening track, Dubharp asks a frequently-posited question—what if Wally Badarou's Echoes or Mark Isham's Vapor Drawings were repurposed for the dance floor? Dubharp nails this sound, as the scattershot perc and whooshing DX7 take us airborne, sailing above some pixelated, enchanted rainforest.
