  • "I feel like I'm evolving," Haich Ber Na said in an interview last year. He was discussing "By Floras," a song he said "shows the direction I'm taking towards the next project." That project, we can only assume, is this four-track EP. From Then 'Til Now sees Ber Na once again diving into his pick 'n' mix production style to place himself between the experimental and the easily consumable. As outlined on the fuzzy, electronic pop stylings of "By Floras," or the genre-shrugging releases that came before it, Ber Na is most fulfilled when exploring maximalist and minimalist elements at once. The tunes here are tender and intimate, once again home to Ber Na's distinctive falsetto vocals. On the flip, they're stirring and far more exuberant than his past work, emitting a luminous energy thanks to his intricate production flourishes and embrace of pop. "87 Days" and "0594 Help" are the kind of tracks that'll have you cocking your head and zoning out of whatever else you're doing so you can engage with them that bit more. "Both Ways" features vocalist and producer Rodel. Floating across this housey cut, their voices blur and weave in and out of each other with a familiarity like a tight embrace. The EP closes on an indie-pop note with "Think About It." This is fun, warm and cohesive music, built to push boundaries but not push the masses—or anyone, really—away.
