- Typical Girls is the new trio made up of Hugo, Julia & Felx, veterans of Gothenburg's indie scene. From Loopsel to Lichtenstein, I have a lot of time for the DIY record makers of Gothenburg, but Typical Girls' debut 7-inch might be the catchiest thing to come out of the city in years. The band refers to their music as "pop-Balearic-madness in black," which translates to a mix of buzzy indie pop and baggy downtempo rhythms. The highlight is "Tension," which features Julia Bjernelind singing a sad song over chilled steel-drum synth pop.
