MBG & SDS - New Jack

  • The very funky and driving Size Records returns with a release from MBG & SDS with New Jack. It is armed with 3 mixes including a mix from the in form Steve Angello. The MBG Scope Mix is quite tasty to be honest. It has a great feel and energy from early on, using a twisted bassline synth pattern that gives the track a very good chunk and drive. There are some twisted and sinister sounds that also give it a good dirty edge, making it a pretty good track. The Steve Angello Mix starts out quite smoothly and subdued, building with the ripping synth patters as well as some smooth beats. Soon enough though, the chunky driving basslines and solid drums kick in, and from then on we have another solid Angello production, full of energy and guile, despite its few quirky cut up vocal breakdowns. The MBG & SDS Pulsar Mix takes a chunky more tribal approach using some solid drums. It’s quite solid yet for me it lacks the appeal the first two mixes had. A pretty solid release here for Size, with the Angello and Scope mixes providing great highlights.
