Louderbach - Black Mirror

  • Underl_ne Records returns, this time with an EP from the studio of Louderbach aka Troy Pierce. Black Mirror is first up and it is a nice moody piece of minimal techno. It flows nicely with a smooth bassline and some crisp beats and effects. A solid way to start the EP. Silver Rings & Silver Guns features a mesmerizing bassline that rumbles the whole production throughout. The drums and percussion are minimal and the track on the whole is very moody, despite the quirky and upbeat melodic pads that come in late into the track. Frushtuck features some more upbeat drum patterns and a bouncier approach than the A-side, building with quirky beats and effects. A very tasty smooth bassline comes into the track midway in giving it a great groove and flow. Very good work here from Troy. Scene 2 is the last piece on the EP, and although the drums and kick are quite chunky, the percussion and sounds around it are again minimal and quirky. Another interesting track here to conclude the EP. A very interesting EP here, with perhaps Frushtuck standing out. The other three productions are still very solid though, especially if you are keen on quirkiness.
