Quivver - Four Fatties EP (Part 2)

  • Quivver is a true phenomenon. he has been making top quality tunes for over ten years now and hes still doing it. From his early tracks such as Twist and shout right up to last years massive Funky summa Quivver has managed to stay at the cutting edge while still delivering the goods. Now he brings us the Four Fatties EP which comes in two parts. I have to admit i felt a little let down by part 1 though the track Reddies was a good techy groover it was far from outstanding, so has Quivver re-addressed the balance with disc 2? Im happy to say he has indeed. Disc 2 opens with Brothers and Sisters a good solid slice of prog which will certainly appeal to the massive and is definitely one for the Sasha fans, however my personal choice is Spittin funk (dub) on the flip. While the original mix of Spittin funk was a dirty breaks tune which you would more expect from the Plump Dj's the dub is a dirty slab of house music absolutely loaded with funk. While everyone else tries to emulate the 80's Quivver has gone for a 70's style groove with some soulfull vocal snippets and a bassline so dirty sounding it will get any dancefloor rocking! Quivver is probably one of my favourite producers as despite all the years hes been in the game he is still delivering great music and Spittin funk dub is up with the very best of them!
