- Matthew Herbert produces extraordinary house music. His new double pack, Secondhand Sounds, is no exception. The release is essentially a collection of remixes, ala Kruder and Dorfmeister’s K&D Sessions, with that unmistakable Herbert sound mincing throughout. His remixes are clean without being sanitary, sparse without being empty, emotive without being soppy; it is a fine balance the lad has going on. Throughout 21 tracks Herbert applies his remixing talents to a diverse spectrum of artists including Motorbass, Mono, Doctor Rockit, Presence, Furry Phreaks, Moloko (Sing It back never sounded so right!) and Blaze as well as going to work on his own tracks.
