Force of Nature - Unstoppable

  • The Japanese duo of Force of Nature follow the smooth release by Ryan Craig with a solid outing of their own in Unstoppable. The Original Mixis first up, and the slightly downtempo production is full of smooth moments, including a deliciously addictive baseline as well as a cavalcade of nice upbeat percussion. Funky and quirky all at once, this is a very solid way to start this release. The Idjut Boys Remix Version 1 follows, and for their first remix they deliver a dubbed out production filled with quirky melodies and a smooth as silk baseline. It’s quite a lazy track at its 116 bpm, but its laziness is what makes it quite appealing. While the previous mix was lazy, the Hotlips & Hawkeye Rework is quite upbeat and full of energy. Again the baselines are simply irresistible and funky, and they work fantastically well with the great overuse of percussion and hats, the element that makes this track so upbeat and energetic, not to mention the array of old school samples that feature throughout. The Idjut Boys Remix Version 2 closes the EP off again in a slow and groovy way, and perhaps an even lazier way then their first remix. A pretty impressive EP here with the fantastic ‘Broken Rule’ reworking by Hotlips & Hawkeye impressing the most.
