Tonepushers - Daydreamer

  • The Tonepushers are the next new artist to feature on US based Fade Recordings, and they bring Daydreamer to the list of fine releases executed by Chris Fortier and his fantastic label. First up is the Bill Hamel Remix which is quite a massive remix. The track build very smoothly, much like a trademark Hamel production until the beats drop out and the track sees the main gritty baseline take control. The track drives on delightfully after this with some smooth effect vocals and subtle shimmering melodies, not to mention some smooth string patterns in the breakdown deep into the production. Quality again from Hamel. The Original Mix is quite a solid moody tech record. The beats are quite crisp and somewhat eerie and the vocal works fantastically well with the bouncy melodic touches. Itïs a very smooth track and slightly more subtle then the Hamel remix, yet just as effective. The Royal Sapien Mix follows and it is the heaviest mix of the lot. Nice flowing beats and quite a heavy baseline help give this track a very good drive and make this the pick of the bunch if looking for a deep and dark choice. Another pretty strong release on Fade and three pretty contrasting mixes.
