  • Bam is DJ Dan’s latest offering on In Stereo Recordings and has been a getting a great reception from clubbers when Dan plays it. Jon Pegnato provides the remix on this high energy record. The Original is a slice of funked up house with a gritty edge. Solid bass and rolling percussion give the track a fast paced feel while the infectious funky basslines and hooks make the track fly. A squelching bassline comes into play and mixes it up with the existing hooks and basslines. A nice breakdown strips down the melodies and hooks while the squelching bassline is given centre stage. The production is tight and meshes house and techno nicely. Jon Pegnato interprets the original into his own slamming remix, utilising the squelching bassline early on with rasping percussion and underlying voice samples that have been heavily effected. Though the original theme is apparent, the melodic changes to the hooks add a bouncing effect, essentially giving this mix a new feel. The main breakdown features more of the male voice sample where the effected vocal is taken from. Another big room tune. Being able to bring house and techno elements together is something DJ Dan has been doing for years, and this is no different. Really big productions on both sides and will work well in the big rooms.
