Tayo meets Acid Rockers Uptown - Rockers Delight

  • Tayo meets Acid Rockers make their debut for Fat! Records with a direct follow up to their Wicked Dub release on Skint Records in the form of Rockers Delight. Side A. Rockers Delight Those familiar with Tayo's previous releases will immediately associate with the ragga man chants, dubby riffs and delayed samples, all held together by a crisp rolling break and a deep, growling bassline. Side B. Rockers Version A richer and fuller take on the original mix, this version utilises more dub elements such as echoes, delays and bleeps. To top it all off, Tayo and Acid Rockers lay down a wicked yet subtle breakbeat lick on top. Not too sure if the vinyl version will have this but the CD-R contains an instrumental take of the original tune perfect for dropping raggapellas on top. All in all a good release and a welcome return for Tayo and the Acid Rockers to the field. Perhaps not as good as Wicked Dub which featured a bouncy melodic bassline and a wicked breakdown/buildup.
