  • Those with a love for drum-led delirium and rough-around-the-edges club material will probably be familiar with DJ JM. In recent years, the Lithuanian DJ and producer has released on increasingly influential UK labels like Nervous Horizon and Even The Strong. His brand of headsy, genre-weaving music matches up neatly with those imprints and their respective signatures. DJ JM is perhaps a little more lowkey than some of their other mainstays, but he's certainly one to get to know if you haven't already. DJ JM has experimented with different styles and genres in the past, flitting between hard drum, slamming techno, wonky warehouse ammunition and euphoric, whistles-at-the-ready melodic material. Nasty, But Attractive sees him homing in on a peak-time, bangers-only kind of sound designed for a solid system. The title track provides a fitting introduction into not just the release, but DJ JM's world. It's a lively tune that draws from the funkier, tribal house side of his toolkit. It's also an example of how simplicity can be powerful when it drum tracks. This is something DJ JM clocked onto a long time ago.
