  • It takes skill to make a good acid track, the kind that sounds like it could have come out in 1988. "Hey Ladies," on Kornél Kovács' label Puss, written by Bella Boo, is one such tune. It's an edit of an unnamed vocal track with an exceptionally chunky rhythm section and a perfectly tuned 303. It's thick and coagulated, without too much high-end resonance. "Hey Ladies" is both a great pop song and a fine house tool, a lovelorn acid track in the grand tradition of Adonis & Charles B's "Lack Of Love." Yes, it sounds like it could have come out in 1988, but it's built for today's dance floors. In a world where those dance floors existed, this would be the Studio Barnhus summer hit.
