- It sounds like Amnesia Scanner have their sights set on a broader audience. Another Life established the duo as the PAN label artist with the most pop potential last year, following in the footsteps of acts (Holly Herndon, Colin Self) who made concept-heavy music accessible. "AS Acá" does more of the same. The Peruvian vocalist Lalita's beefy voice joins the grating pitch of Oracle, a computerised singer Amnesia Scanner used on Another Life. Lalita's Spanish lyrics are front and centre, delivered over a marching war drum and Amnesia Scanner's signature scratches and screeches. Integrating human vocals with maximalist dissonance—Amnesia Scanner call it "avant-EDM"—doesn't get better than this.
