It's a pretty good taste of what the Kiwi Rekords crew are all about, getting stuck into the soulful, champagne-soaked end of 2-step with honeyed vocal snippets, organ leads and a hint of gritty speed garage bass. "Whippet," a collaboration with Kiwi Rekords alumnus Sammy Virji, is less revival and more indebted to hip-hop, like a garage remix of Future's "Mask Off." Bobbing on a jagged bassline and classy chords, it's the perfect ratio of regal and rude, the formula that makes Conducta's style of UK garage uplifting and sunny, even as the leaves start to turn brown.
