If the answer to any of these questions is yes, consider checking out Redfern by the Swedish artist Adam Strömstedt, who's spent the past decade making rock solid dance floor music that draws from deep house, tech house and minimal.
With a humid atmosphere, soft breakbeat and inviting square-wave bassline, "Carid" could be played both early and late. A little more oomph in the drums makes "Taronga" the pick if you want the same vibe at a different point in the night, while "Redfern," another track bathed in wafting pads, does nice work with a crispy, minimal-leaning beat that isn't a million miles away from Basic Channel. "Kogarah" is the outlier owing to its faster pace and straighter drums, although for a techno track it's also pretty chill. A sample of a TED talk by Pamela Mayer called "How To Spot A Liar" (there are voice samples throughout this record and Strömstedt's music generally) is laid over a bouncing melodic bassline that, again, pairs with balmy pads. As you might have sensed, there's little originality on Redfern, but DJs will always need artists like Strömstedt to keep their crates refreshed.
