- There's something tropical about Acronym's purist brand of techno, where bells and shimmering synth snippets move around the stereo field like fireflies. It gives his sound a unique splash of colour, resulting in tunes that touch your heart while twisting your head. The B-side of his new EP, Mistress Of The Copper Mountain, has another special tropical techno tune, and this time there's a hint of trance. (Discogs actually labels this "neo trance," but don't worry—this is a long way from Afterlife's sad sound.) The groove is tough but the mood is bright, as synths yawn and whistle. It's a track dancers will remember long after stumbling out the club doors.
