- Restrained tech house for big rooms, currently number one on Beatport.
- Audiojack, once among the biggest names in UK tech house, don't have the profile they used to, but they can still lay down a killer groove. After dominating with their brand of reduced, rolling tech house throughout the late '00s and early '10s, James Rial and Richard Burkinshaw went quiet, releasing only a handful of records in 2016 and 2017 (and none last year). The duo's lean house sound hasn't changed in the meantime, but that doesn't seem to matter—they're currently at the top of the Beatport charts with "Inside My Head," a comeback release on Crosstown Rebels.
It's easy to see why "Inside My Head," which is paired with the darker "Behind The Curtain," works so well. The track is simple, even predictable, but it gives selectors in control of busy rooms an effective combination of groove and colour. The familiar cries of Cuba Gooding's "Happiness Is Just Around The Bend," the main vocal sample, are looped and panned atop the percussive, hand drum-laden percussion, while several breakdowns toy with the energy. It's classic Audiojack, a duo who bring a touch of class to big rooms. Welcome back.
