  • Joey Anderson and DJ Qu are among the few house producers who have managed to cultivate an unmistakable sound. Returning to Anderson's Inimeg label for their first joint release since 2011's Organisms, the Neutrino EP sees both artists on form and staying true to their respective styles. Anderson's "Prophets" is the highlight. It's uncomplicated, like his best music, built on a snare-less groove and simple chord sequence. The layered keys' stoned, improvised feel, plus the way sensitive melodies are offset against blunt drum programming, make it unmistakably Anderson, recalling tracks like "Organ To Dust" and "Press Play." "From The Sky" explores the psychedelic, arpeggio-dominated techno sound that Anderson has mined for years. It's nothing new, but no less mesmerising than previous tracks in this vein. DJ Qu takes a different approach on "Flamethrowa," which is sinister and abstract deep house delivered with Qu's trademark looseness.
