- Rapid Eye Movement, a Spanish label that launched one year ago, has enlisted four artists for a slamming set of remixes for VII Circle and Memorial Home's Split EP. Nur Jaber delivers a relatively simple yet trance-inducing rework of "Metaphysical Functions." The track comes back to life after an esoteric mid-section, scattered with a 303, gives way to a spaced-out final section. Wrong Assessment's remix of "Dogma" is tougher, a club weapon filled with other-worldly shrieks and a high-energy 303.
Although Edit Select's remix of "Second Floor" doesn't do anything unexpected, the neatly layered ambient synths would work well at the end of a long night. Reggy Van Oers creates a somber mood with an assortment of experimental sounds on his version of "Ampere," rounding out a collection of heavy club tracks that suggests there are more solid records from Rapid Eye Movement to come.
