Hydroponix - Don’t Stop, Go!

  • The next release on Sander’s ever consistent LMR imprint comes from Hydroponix and the very devastating Don’t Stop, Go!, a production you may remember that was dropped by Sasha & Digweed at the Renaissance festival a few months back in the UK. First up is the Mirabeau Main Mix, that very same mix used by the duo on the Essential Mix, and the track builds nicely with some nice crisp beats surrounded by intricate percussive sounds and a deep groovy baseline. The track hits a very interesting breakdown, with vocals reminiscent from Apollo 440’s ‘Raw Power’ track from all those years ago. The rough vocals ride over some very emotive string patterns, giving the track a very big room feel. Turn it over to the Mirabeau Dub and the beats get a little grittier and minimal. The baseline takes a bit of a starring role, as it grinds alongside the clattering and nicely shaped loops. Despite the fact the production isn’t as obvious as the main mix, you cannot deny its appeal as it really does pull its weight in this release. Another pretty solid release on LMR, and after a couple of shaky releases proceeding, it appears normal service is being resumed.
