  • Hugo Massien's third EP for E-Beamz, Where Your Body Begins, toys with the popular sounds that sparked his rise: bass-heavy breaks, trancey rave sounds and squirmy acid. It's his most refined and satisfying record to date, the title track leading with spooky atmospherics and breaks before dropping into Massien's trademark churning synths, which make it a peak-time anthem fit for festival stages. "Alien Shapes" drops the tempo for a drum-heavy stomper that unfolds into, as its name suggests, alien acid lines. DJs could sneak it in during warm-up hours if they want to get weird early. "The Only Constant is Change" is deep and ethereal with subdued vocal snippets, sounding like a darker take on what we heard on DJ Seinfeld's debut album. The same could be said of "Faith In Chaos," a catchy acid track with female vocals that will close eyes and move bodies. You can hear a bit of everything on Where Your Body Begins. It doesn't sound like repetition, but reinvigoration.
