  • D. Tiffany had been releasing dreamy house for three years before her Pacific Rhythm debut, Blue Dream, touched listeners in a way her music hadn't before. Her fellow Vancouver resident Regularfantasy's voice calling out "Excuse me, I'm tryna dance" on the track "How RU Plush" became a popular phrase. It was a relatable lyric for anyone who has been bothered or harassed on the dance floor while simply trying to dance. D. Tiffany makes music for when you want to be left alone to do just that. V2M, her new EP for the UK label Coastal Haze, is perfect for this, with tracks that seem to carry a gentle breeze. It lies in the realm of dreamy house that D. Tiffany excels at, so even when the compositions are at their busiest, there's a sense of space that gives the music a lighter feel. On each track, floating pads take the mood to a more introspective place. "Respect The Flute" works with a wistful flute melody that wanders in and out of punchy percussion. It would be the perfect closing track, soundtracking the moment just before the lights come up and the club starts to empty. "V2M"s lilting bongo patterns and warm pads will have listeners wanting an ice-cold drink in the sunshine, while there are hints of her work under the alias DJ Zozi in the energetic breaks on "Distant Globes."
