Larry – Nirvana

  • Iberican Records hails out of Spain, and they try to specialize in the sound of the beautiful Iberican area in its Peninsula in Spain. Their next release comes from Larry and his latest production Nirvana. On the a-side is the Original Re-Worked Mix. It’s a smooth house record, with some nice upbeats drums and deep chugging baselines giving it a strong presence. The sounds and effects of the production are somewhat seductive and tribal at the same time, especially late in the production where a gritty stabbing dirty baseline comes into the loops and gives the track the extra edge it needs. On the flip is firstly the Dub Mix, and for me it is not as strong as the main mix on the a-side. It has many similar elements, mainly the drums and subtle vocal elements, but the baseline for me isn’t as strong, nor is the arrangement and flow. The Reprise is last off, and it feature some nice effects and sounds taken from the Dub and Original mixes. Overall, its not a bad release from the Iberican imprint. Look for the very nice a-side for a deep and chunky production.
